When pondering on what to name my blog.... I thought & thought.... and the color yellow came to me!! A dear friend that has gone to be with the Lord (the color yellow that reminds US of her beautiful and bright smile) gave me the inspiration for the theme . In memory of a wonderful friend.

Aunt Samantha :)

I am FINALLY an AUNT !!!

The Hubby and I enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend in Guntersville, AL with his brother Brad and his wife Sarah. We spent the weekend welcoming our nephew, enjoying the beautiful sites of Guntersville, grilling out, and just relaxing :)

As many of you may know I am the only child. I  always wondered if I would ever have the opportunity to become an aunt and now thanks to my husbands 3 brothers and their wives I will :) I am beyond excited about having a nephew and cannot wait to have even more ( and some nieces:) so that I can spoil them!!!

Parker Travis Rhodes
So Handsome!!!  7lbs & 13oz

Proud Uncle J.Jay :)
I know that they will be the best of friends and J.Jay will teach Parker all the things about being a boy (if you know what I mean :) haha
*** I was so excited to hold Parker all weekend that I didn't even get a photo with him***
He loves the swing... He is so good during the day! Sleeps and sleeps :) He is adjusting to getting his sleep schedule situated!

Welcome Home!!! Isn't this so cute :)

Brad & Sarah's house is absolutely beautiful! (thought you might enjoy seeing where we spent the weekend)  It has the most perfect view of Lake Guntersville and you can look out the front windows every afternoon and enjoy the sunset... then on the other side of the house you look out the back window and can enjoy another beautiful view. . . . . just wait and see!!!

*ignore my car*
I just couldn't resist adding this picture... The hubby and I just feel in love with their house!
Do they have great taste or what????

Front VIEW :)

Back VIEW!!!
SEE WHAT I MEAN??
How beautiful is that. . . . we were all sitting in the living room talking and J.Jay says "hey, there is a deer in the back yard" . . . . I get a bit excited about views like this because NEVER could I have looked out my back window and seen this :) J.Jay and Brad grew up seeing this often, but I just couldn't miss this picture perfect moment.

For all of you who are expecting a child or one day plan too I thought that you might enjoy a few photos of Parker's nursery! I just love the Nautical theme :)

These pictures are a little different..... I just got a new camera that has a fish eye lens and this was an experiment... as you can tell I have lots to learn :)

Brad also took J. Jay and I on a tour of Guntersville. We went to the State Park and it was beautiful and has an amazing view. . . . unfortunately I did not have my camera with me at this time so I could not take pictures of all the damage from the tornados, but I must say that it is a whole lot worse in person. Guntersvilles is a beautiful place and despite the devastation it is still a beautiful place to visit.
I believe somewhere that even should put on their list of places to visit :)

I want to share this with you...... for anyone who is struggling or spending a lot of energy trying to figure things out!

The peace that God gives us transcends our intellect. When most of our mental energy goes into efforts to figure things out, we are unable to receive his glorious gifts. He looks into our mind and sees our thoughts spinning round and round: going nowhere, accomplishing nothing. All the while, his peace hovers over us, searching for a place to land.
Be still in his presences, inviting him to control your thoughts. Let his light soak into your mind and heart, until you are aglow with his very Being. This is the most effective way to receive his peace!

JOB 22:21  "Summit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you"

This is just another reassuring way that God has let us know he will ALWAYS take care of us!!! So powerful and amazing :)

I hope that everyone has a blessed week!!!!

It has been a WHILE

Hello :) Long time!!!

The Hubby and I have been extremely busy. . . .unfortunately I have had to take a break from the blog world, but I am back!!

Let me start off by saying that God is good and is continuing to work strong in our life! I was recently blessed with a JOB :) I am doing accounting for a company near Fairhope called Summit Industries LLC. I am really enjoying this new venture in my life.... I took several accounting and finance classes in college and enjoyed them, but never did I think in a million years that God would place me working for this great family owned company in my most favorite city in the world :) As I continued to lean on God's word during my job search I found my greatest strength through these words  "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." As he ALWAYS does. . . .  he opened up this door for me to start a new journey. . . .

So I thought that you might enjoy catching up on what THE PITTS have been up to the past couple of weeks!!!!!

The weekend of May 7th :
*We celebrated my Grandmother's Birthday
*My 25th birthday
*My great friend from High School (Caroline Carroll Flowers) beautiful wedding
*Mothers Day

Friday night my mom managed to pull off a surprise party!!! Family, friends & past co-workers came over to our house to celebrate my birthday. We sat out on the back porch listening to music, enjoyed some delicious home chocolate pound cake & catching up! Everyone wanted the latest news on the "newly weds" :)

My great friend Paige had us over on Saturday for a POOL PARTY to celebrate my birthday :)
(just like old times)

Saturday night we enjoyed a beautiful southern wedding! Caroline and McDavid Flowers :)
Their wedding was absolutely stunning and a great time! Enjoyed spending time with all my best girl friends!

GET THIS!!!
For those of you who know my Mother . . . . you will get a kick out of this :)
As I was enjoying the band with the girls. . . . I assume that my mother saw J.Jay before she left the country club and told him that she wanted to go to Bellingrath Gardens for Mothers Day. . .  that we had better be up and ready to go first thing in the morning. As time rocked on. . .  J. Jay came up to me and said " I have something to tell you" & I was like OK? haha . . .He informed me of Mother's plans and I just knew that he was pulling my leg (nothing new :) So I just laughed and blew it off. . . . about 30 minuets later I asked him again "are you being serious or is this a joke?" J.Jay said "SAM I PROMISE"  . . .  then I knew this had to be true.
My Mother is such a strong person and loves to do new things. When you mention something that you want to do . . .  she will go over and beyond to make it happen!!! (My Grandmother said that she wanted to go to Bellingrath Gardens and then she changed her mind) . . . . So needless to say waking up at 6:30am on Mother's day . . . . it was no JOKE. . . .  we got up and got our things together and headed south. J.Jay and I took Mom to Bellingrath Gardens for Mothers Day :)
I was so glad that we decided to go because I had never been and it was absolutely beautiful.

I love this picture!!! One of Brittany's favorite flowers(we carried these in her wedding) Seeing this on Mothers Day just made me smile and gave me comfort.

The weekend of May 14th
We went home again to celebrate Natalie & Blake Lane's wedding:)

Natalie & Blake's wedding was a fairytale come true. We enjoyed dancing under tents in her parents beautiful back yard. We had so much fun celebrating with all our friends from Auburn :)

The HoNeYmOoN :) Part 2

So after our amazing tour of the resort . . . We were escorted to our room!!

The Room

We stayed in what they call the Italian Village. Our room had an amazing view of the mountains and the beautiful water.

I don't know about you . . . but I could look out my window and see this EVERYDAY :)

Word of advice! If you ever go to Jamaica DO NOT drink the Coke, Diet Coke or Sprite.
I am not sure what they do to the drinks but they were awful!!!

The Spa provided us with their awesome products :)

That beautiful "Kool-Aid" water I told you about!

The whole trip I kept asking J. Jay "can you believe how blue the water is" and he would just say "I know DUNN"  (oh yes, my husband still calls me DUNN )  I had never seen something more beautiful in my life and just could not believe that we were sitting on a beach in Jamaica celebrating our new life together with this AMAZING VIEW!!

Do you see what I mean?? Who wouldn't just want to lay there all day and stare at that beautiful water in amazement. . . . I cannot wait for the opportunity to go back!!!

Look what J. Jay found!!!
We met this couple  TONY & SHARON (from Canada) they were in amazement of all the sea creatures that were just right there near the shore line that you could pick up. Because we got married in February (which is not the IDEAL WEDDING SEAON. . .  but we could not have asked for better weather. . .  SUNNY high of 72 :) there were a lot of snow birds on vacation. I seriously think that we were the only people there South of the Mason Dixon Line. . .  one lady said "where are you from?" and I said "Alabama" she quickly replied . . ."Oh I have seen that in movies, you know where they play country music"   hahaha all we could do was laugh!

Beautiful!!

Check out this little guy! I remember us standing on the beach talking to Tony and Sharon and I kept telling J.Jay "I want to see a starfish" and about 10 min. later as I was walking through the water I found this little guy. . .  do not ask me how I saw it . . .  I always thought I had good eyes :)

Lunch!

J. Jay and I laugh now when we think back to this. . . and your'e probably going to laugh as well. Very rare do you find a good place that serves pizza  (let me just say that no one will ever compare to my most favorite place to eat pizza DIFILIPPO'S in Ozark, AL) but, this place was a close running. J. Jay and I ate pizza for lunch the first day that we arrived. .  . and needless to say we had it every day for lunch for the rest of the vacation :)

It was so relaxing to sit out in the shade and enjoy a nice glass of wine and some delicious pizza... There was always this WHITE BIRD and BLACK BIRD that was close by. You could tell their trip to the resort wasn't their first rodeo. . .  They would perch on the wall next to my chair everyday and wait for everyone sitting outside to leave a little something on their plate and when they would leave their table they would devour their leftovers. . . . really amusing to say the least :)

Guiseppe's

WHITE BIRD :)

BLACK BIRD :)  His eyes are beautiful!!!

So these birds were not at the lunch table... but I just love this photo how they just blend in so well with the rocks :)

To be continued....

One last thing I wanted to share with you today! I posted this on my FaceBook wall yesterday, but I know that some of you may not be my FaceBook friend. . . . I recommend you listen to this song!
I LOVE IT and I know that you will like it as well :) I hope that you have a blessed day!

The HoNeYmOoN :) Part 1

I thought that I would entertain you all today with photos from our HONEYMOON!!!

The HUBBY and I went to Sandals Whitehouse, Jamaica for the most relaxing, beautiful, exciting and romantic trip of our lives. . .

So as I begin to tell you the story of our trip to Jamaica I thought what better way than for you to have some JAMAICAN music to listen to while looking at the photos :)

It's a must that you listen to these songs while reading the blog.... I am telling you with all this beautiful weather this weekend it will put you in the mood for the BEACH :)

Bob Marley - One Love

Bob Marley - Red Red Wine

*** Wow, just listening to this music makes me miss Jamaica so much***

The beginning of an AMAZING WEEK . . .

We left our wedding reception in a LIMO heading to ATLANTA for 2 days.   <Word of advice to those who are planning a honeymoon. . . don't get in a rush to get there take an extra day to relax and not have to rush through the airport with only a few hours of sleep. >  When we arrived (@ 2 a.m.) we were so tired from all the excitement from our wedding day festivities . . .    We were speechless to say the least when we saw our room!! We had a front row seat on our top floor balcony to watch the airplanes land and take off!! (we were so excited. . .  just like 2 kids that had never seen an airport before. . .  and of course I had a MILLION questions for J. Jay like I always do for everything) We enjoyed a relaxing time reminiscing about all our family and friends at our wedding, sitting out on our balcony in amazement by the planes, enjoyed a romantic dinner and then early that next morning we were off to the WORLDS BUSIEST AIRPORT to board our plane to JaMaIcA !!!
(all of this thanks to my cousin Charles, he spoils us:)

The view from our room :)

Must I say that we treated ourselves to a 1st class ride to Jamaica.... no better way to travel :) Esp. when your husband is 6'4.... coach just doesn't make a comfortable trip for those long legs!!  We just couldn't believe the view that we had ... I kept telling Jay that the water looked like KOOL-AID :)
God's work is amazing!

We were given a warm welcome to the Montego Bay Airport by the Sandals staff. They were all so organized and already had all our bags loaded up and ready to go.
(The resort that we went to was about 2 hours away from the airport)

So as we loaded up in the VAN ..... we were so excited to hurry up and get there. There was another newly wed couple in the van with us and they were from Venezuela. (so of course we had tons of questions for each other about our weddings and about each others traditions)

Our Ride !

Close up!

Pit stop . . .

"How about that ride in ?"
About that VAN that I mentioned....... :) haha is all that I can say. We were in for what I would call "the ride of our life".... Let me just saw that Jamaican's are not cautious drives. They travel on the opposite side of the rode than we do, DO NOT obey the speed limits outside of the city and they TEXT and drive... (Now, just imagine) As we are traveling through the city we see all these men standing in the middle of road trying to sell everything you can imagine ( I am just praying that our doors are locked) ...  as we begin to exit the city we begin to see the most beautiful scenery that you can imagine (just like a post card) .... because our resort was so far away from the city we had to travel through the mountains to get there... it was unbelievable how you could look out your left window and see the most beautiful home and right next to it a cardboard box (so much poverty and wealth side by side) then you could look out your right window and see the most amazing blue water!!  Needless to say in the middle of this excitement I look and J. Jay and let him know that all the sudden I don't feel so well.... (I never getcar sick) but this time . . . oh yes, I was car sick. From the winding roads,  near misses falling off the mountain, the driver approaching a sharp turn laying down on the horn to prepare those WALKING IN THE ROAD that we were coming, to passing the car ahead of us by barley missing the other car approaching us head on. . .  you name it we experienced it during "that ride in" .... I have never feared my life more!!! I remember looking at J. Jay the moment we arrived at the RESORT and I said "Thank you Lord! I didn't think we were going to make it to enjoy our honeymoon" and leave it to my comedian husband to look at me and say . . . " How 'bout that ride in" . . .  all I could do is laugh and think that we were experiencing our own movie of The Hangover :) hahaha........  It only gets better from here

Welcome to SANDALS 'mon (only to be spoken in a Jamaican voice)

We finally made it!

Greeted with Strawberry Champagne

Time to RELAX!!! Waiting on our concierge to take us to our room

The 1st thing we see...

OH YES.... This beautiful bird!!! A PEACOCK :)

If you remember from the posts about the wedding. . .  our decor accent for the wedding was PEACOCK feathers. I was so excited when I saw this bird, because I just think they are the most AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL animals! During our week at the resort we would always see the peacock walking around, but he never had his feathers fanned.... :(  During the day while we were laying on the beach you could even hear him "talking" from a distance....  I will never forget the sound of the peacock.

(On another note. Someone that lives near us has a peacock!! There is a privacy fence blocking what I would call a small farm of peacocks and chickens... we are blessed to have animals surrounding us hahaha.:)  The day that we get back from the honeymoon we are unloading our stuff and all the sudden. . . I hear this AHHHRRAHHH (drawn out like a sweet southern lady) sound and J.Jay and I look at each other and just laugh.... we have a peacock neighbor:) So "my comedian" finds it funny now to just randomly make this sound and we just laugh!! He even wanted to wake Becky up this past weekend with his Peacock sound... I saved you Becky!!!! haha

The Sights!

These are the sights that we enjoyed on the way to our room :)

How beautiful!!!
(They took extra care of this beautiful tile... polishing it every morning)

Beautiful fountains all over!

Can you see what I would call a FAN PALM TREE :) they were all over the resort

Does anyone know what these are? They were growing in the trees all over the resort... unfortunately we never asked what they were and now I am curious!!

The concierges office

I will leave you with this last photo for the day and for what is to come...
It just takes me away to a relaxing place!!!

To be continued... check back tomorrow!
